Bam! There’s a loud noise in the hall. “Where is the door?,” inquired Austin Peck.
“Whoa! What’s happening here? Is there a reason that the door was moved?” chimed Ellen Dolan, as she stood there in shock.
Another coordinator replied through the hole in the wall of the production office that we’d be undergoing renovations over the course of the next few weeks.
Moving the door was essential to providing the space necessary to accommodate the new office. I realized that this would probably be a recurring moment with actors and staff alike.
Since the production office is the information hub of the studio, any renovation especially moving the door two feet to the right would be noticed. Four weeks and three days later, the renovations are complete and the “ooh and ahh” factor is in full effect.
Director Jennifer Pepperman suggested that we host daily four o’clock dance parties. She offered to be our first performer. Imagine herds of people lining up to bust a move on the new production office floor. It doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. Hey, a brand new office could spark brand new traditions. I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
